Corton is a small coastal village on the Suffolk coast between Lowestoft and Gt Yarmouth and lies close to the villages of Gunton and Hopton-on-Sea.The School house, Village hall and various other houses and buildings in Corton were built by the famous Jeremiah Colman.
Corton has a lot to offer, a village shop and swimming pool near Our Park Wy-Wurry.
There are 2 Public Houses in the village. They both serve food lunch time and in the evening and hold various functions.
There is also a Chinese takeaway in the street.
There is a playing field and 2 churches. Corton has a Methodist Church in the village and St.Bartholomew’s Church with its 15th century tower is more remote being situated on the back road to Hopton.
Beside the lure of the uncrowded beach there is the well known ‘Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park’. If you like walking Corton has a wood.
Many places for activities, sightseeing and entertainment are within easy reach by private or public transport, for example Lowestoft with its Historic High Street, not forgetting the famous ‘Scores’, Nicholas Everett Park at Oulton Broad which houses the Lowestoft Museum, or the pretty seaside town of Gorleston which has an 18 hole golf course.
